Menambah Perisai Budaya Untuk Globalisasi Hallyu

[UET] English Teacher and Storytelling

cr: www.dec.ny.gov
In, UET class, we had lesson about storytelling. As an english teacher, I think storytelling is important and an obligatory things to do in teaching the students. With storytelling, students can improve their listening skill and also speaking skill when they also do the storytelling in the class.

Analogies, anecdotes, parables, fables, metaphors and idioms are all storytelling methods for imparting wisdom or making a point. Frequently, such methods represent a far more effective way to achieve this than through a plain presentation of facts. Here are five tips to help you find your story voice.

1. Leap and the net will appear

Start turning personal experiences into stories for your presentations. It's important that you remember that experiences don't automatically equate to stories, it's how you relate them that does.  Sharing such experiences innevitably requires you to be willing to talk publicly about what are essentially private events. This requires a leap of both faith and imagination, however once you have taken the initial plunge you wil find that you quickly become comfortable doing so.

[TLL] Introducing: Podcast for Language Learning

cr: www.geneedwards.com

Few years ago, people like to listen news on internet by online radio. However, this way to get news did not really match with people who have many activities. When people want to listen something from online radio, at least they have to know the time of the broadcast itself. If they do not stay tuned or streaming on the online radio, they might be lost the broadcasting. From this case, some people came up with the idea of 'a non-streaming online radio'.
Based on that case 'podcast' was born, it’s well known as ‘a non-streamed digital media’. The word podcast is stands from the word pod and cast. Pod means playable or personal demand, and cast means broadcast. So, podcast also means radio with concept anytime and anywhere (broadcasting digital media).
How you use a podcast? How to play it? Podcast is an audio media file, so it’s a mp3 format. You can play a podcast with only by using an ordinary audio player / mp3 player. You don’t need to have an iPod to listen it. Something special about podcast is free! We can subscribe it. We do not need to visit the site to find new episode or series of podcast.

[PETA] Multiple Intelligences and the Implementation in the Classroom

cr: www.brainleadersandlearners.com

In many schools teachers usually treats the students in the same way, because they don’t know that the students is different. Students have different multiple intelligences. Teachers teach like there’s only one intelligence for all students. So, it will be better if teachers teach students based on their intelligence but still using the same material.
We know that there are eight multiple intelligences, such as verbal linguistic, logical mathematical, visual spatial, musical rhythmic, bodily kinesthetic, interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, naturalist intelligence. Every student has all of the intelligences, but some might be more dominant than the others. The dominant intelligences of each student are not the same. Teacher should teach and assess differently based on individual strengths and weaknesses.

[Ahndesu's Mind] Why Teacher?

This is just my opinion of becoming a teacher. So watch what I’m going to say this time.
Well, here I go…

Have you ever thought? Before you finally decide to become a teacher, consider your reasons for wanting to take this step. We’re going to teach children and teenagers, or probably teach people who are older than us. Educating those kinds of people is a challenge, and if you are going to take it on you will become part of their world, which has both advantages and disadvantages.
